The purpose of this assignment is to help you gain practice in writing a formal, long memorandum.
Write a formal, long (three-page) memorandum to the chief human resources officer of the company you selected
earlier in this course. The topic is new health and wellness benefts being suggested for the company.
Do research on the topic for companies and at insurance firms to see what options are available. You should try to find
statistics about the value of health and wellness options for employees – reducing sick days, improving productivity, and so
forth – and how they have been documented in some companies.
Your memo should describe the current situation – use your imagination – and the facts you turn up in your research to
support the implementation of new benefits. Look at presentations at recent meetings of human resources organizations for
more information and examples. While this assignment does not directly pertain to the topic of your Final Project Report, it will
give you more experience in writing a recommendation for your company. Be sure to attend to my comments and revise the
appropriate section of the Final Report Project with those in mind.
The memorandum should be about between two and three pages long and include references and data, and even graphs if
available. Use APA style for citations and be persuasive and clear in your recommendations.
