TOPIC: “New York Nite Club–” (note the purposeful misspelling) by the Beat writer Jack Kerouac, follows a different type of structure than most of us are used to. Look carefully at the structure of the narrative. Where does Kerouac take the reader? How is this a personal narrative? Do you prefer the more traditional essay structure of Marshall Nych’s “The Holy Bale”? Why/why not?
