Using the videos and required readings for this course, answer the following question. Also feel free to use external sources.
1) Do you think the “Message from the Future” videos (Week 1) depict an accurate vision of climate change and its impacts? Explain, with reference to the climate science we have covered.
2) If one goal of climate science is to provide direction and assistance to policy-makers (who are usually not scientists), what areas of climate science do you think are most useful, promising and/or necessary? Explain.
3) What aspects of the Earth’s natural systems help to equilibrate or stabilize Earth’s temperature? List the main ones, explain their relative importance, and summarize their stability or vulnerability to increasing levels of CO2-equivalents in the atmosphere.
4) Explain the scientific evidence that shows that human actions (not natural processes) are causing the rapid increases in Earth’s temperature over the last 150 years.
