Federal Judges cast doubt on Challenge to Climate Change Plans
On April 16, 2015 an article was published entitled “Federal judges cast doubt on challenge to Obama administration’s plan for climate change” (Hananel, 2015). This article discusses the case of EPA vs. a coalition of coal-reliant states and the nation’s largest privately held coal mining company about cutting heat-trapping pollutants from coal-fired power plants. I wanted to post this because of the relevancy, timing, and focus on renewable and nonrenewable resources that we just analyzed. In this thread, read this article:

What are your thoughts? Which side to you agree with…EPA or coal-reliant states/mining company? Make sure to look at the arguments and view from both sides. If you were one of the judges, how would you side and why? If you were a state senator in one of the coal-reliant states, what would you argue? I want you to really think carefully about this issue from both perspectives before making your case.

Or is our money better spent on developing new clean and renewable energy sources that don’t yet have enough infrastructure to produce power at the scale that coal can? What pros and cons do you see in each approach?
