It should be about eight pages in length (or 2000 words), double-spaced, and 12 pt. Font. You are free to format the essay in either MLA or APA format, and you can use in-text citations, footnotes or endnotes, as long as you use the same format throughout. I am most interested in your ideas and analysis, and your choice of format only needs to be consistent.
You should use about five sources from the list of sources I posted in the ‘Essay Assignment Folder.’ You are free to use external articles as long as you believe they are from reputable sources.
Grading Rubric for Final Essay;
Does the essay present a clear thesis statement or question in the opening paragraph, and does the paper address this question or statement? (In essence, have you identified one modern totalitarian or authoritarian state, and have you adequately discussed a specific aspect of that state’s governance?)
