1. Pick a DSM-5 disorder that interests you
• Make sure it’s something that we would see as a common presentation in therapy
• Example: any of the mood disorders, personality disorders, Neurocognitive Disorders, substance-related disorders
• Bad examples: Sexual Dysfunction, feeding and eating disorders, motor disorders, paraphiliac disorders
2. Choose a population that you would want to learn more about
• Example: age, race, gender, ethnicity, community, etc.
3. Make a case for the efficacy of using a systemic treatment for the DSM-5 disorder and population that you have chosen as your focus
