***FIRST AND FOREMOST, I WILL, REPEAT, WILL BE CHECKING FOR ANY FORM OF PLAGIARISM I WILL NOT TOLERATE IT AND I WILL NOT RELEASE PAYMENT IF I FIND ANY PLAGIARISM IN THIS PAPER, I WILL ALSO REPORT IT SO BEWARE! SO PLEASE DON’T
A Titles and Authors, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Literature Cited section are ALL neccesary sections to complete this report.
Background and Relevance
In the introduction and discussion sections, put the antibiotic experiment we did in context by including information about at least one of the following:
□ the background and history of antibiotic use
□ the mechanisms through which various antibiotics inhibit microbial growth
□ the relevance of antibiotics to human health
□ current issues surrounding the use of antibiotics (antibiotic resistance, the use of antibiotics in animal feed, the development of new antibiotics, etc.)
Data to include in your antibiotics lab report:
□ Include all the data on the Excel file called “Antibiotic Data Excel Table”
□ The data should be presented as a table similar to the table found in the packet “Antibiotics Expiremental Data” and in the Excel file “Antibiotic Data Excel Table”. Exactly how you do it will depend on your computer and software, but an easy way to make a table for your report is to convert the Excel sheet data to a table in Word. It is also acceptable to post the Excel file itself if it is easier for you. Give the excel file a name, such as ‘Table 1’, write a legend to accompany it, refer to it as ‘Table 1’ in your lab report, and upload it to Canvas along with the text of your lab report.
In your lab report, your data must be analyzed in two ways:
Using the data, compare the sensitivity of each bacterium to all of the different antibiotics used in the expirement (for example, E. coli was sensitive to antibiotics A, B and C but not to antibiotics D, E and F)
Note: when data is not available, just state this in your report.
Using the gathered data, compare the effectiveness of each antibiotic on all of the different bacteria on which it was tested (for example, Novobiocin was effective against bacteria A, B and C but not against bacteria D, E and F) Note: when data is not available, just state this in your report.
Required resources (you must cite at least 3 resources):
You must include an article from the popular press for current news about how
antibiotics impact our health or environment.
Examples:
Newspapers (the New York Times does an excellent job covering science)
Magazines: Scientific American, Discover, Smithsonian, Time Magazine, The Atlantic, etc.
Science summary publications for the general public such as:
Science News: https://www.sciencenews.org/
Science Daily: https://www.sciencedaily.com/
□ You must include at least one article from the scientific literature (primary research article or review article)
□ You must refer to the lab packet in the Materials and Methods section.
□ You may also include additional sources, such as books, articles, etc.
a refrence page is required FOR ALL SOURCES , also do not forget to use in text citations!
Attached Documents-
1. Rubric – Report must include every single category on this rubric in order to ensure maximum possible points
2.”Antibiotics Expiremental Data”- THIS HAS ALL THE EXPIREMENTAL RESULTS/ DATA YOU NEED
3. “Antibiotic Data Excel Table”
4. Example of Lab Report with Grade – I have provided a previous lab report that was written by me as a sample just to give you an idea of how this lab report will be graded, please respect the rubric and write the report in a similar fashion but of course avoiding any noted mistakes **THIS IS JUST FOR YOUR REFRENCE, THIS LAB REPORT IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT TOPIC **
Lastly, after thourougly reading all details carefully, I will be asking you to read it back to me to make sure you understand the assignment. If you think you can take on this job shoot me a message, also I will hire you for all my future jobs if you are able to succesfully complete this report, THANK YOU! 🙂
