The attached file is a draft of the personal statement for my UCAS application.
I am planning to apply for the subject Economics and Management.
The Statement is nearly finished. However, it does not sound academic enough right now.
Please link the content to economics. Use more specific terms/ economics concepts to link it with the subject.
Also, make it more personal. Add opinions or even criticism to some econ-related arguments/ things mentioned in some books.
Here are some of my thoughts on what to add:
Interest adjustment / Federal Reserve –> is that doing too much? not balanced?
The economy of scale/ Free Trade –> many people think it’s good, but can be bad [Please explain more here]
Patents –> Customers need to pay more. Does it worth it? any other system that may work better?
Link housing problem/ inequality with mortgage/ change in interest rate
Inequality/ Inequity (within a nation/ city) –> Cross-generational poverty. Equality vs Equity
Inequality (across countries) –> why poor countries can’t catch up? UNDERDEVELOPMENT
(no need to add them all of course, but please make my statement sounds more academic and personal)
Word limit: No more than 4000 characters, so please be precise and concise.
Tone: Should sound curious (interested in the subject and got many things that I want to know) and humble at the same time
