No PowerPoint. I will create the PowerPoint based off of the paper.
Locate and interview (in person or by phone) a financial officer, president, VP, dean, or other manager within a proprietary (for-profit) career college in your area about the budgeting challenges he or she faces on an everyday basis. Be sure and discuss benchmarks or standards used in an actual budget, such as percentage of revenue for payroll and/or percentage of revenue budgeted for advertising. Prepare a list of 7-8 questions from the perspective of a new campus president that you will use for the interview to get the kind of budgeting information you will need to effectively manage the budget for your school. Include an analysis of your findings and how they will be used to effectively manage a budget as a college president. Discuss your class project with the interviewee.
Create a PowerPoint presentation (minimum 8-10 slides) that provides a summary of what you have learned from the interview you have just completed. Write the presentation as though you are teaching prospective proprietary career college presidents what they need to know about how to manage their campus budgets. In addition to the information you have learned about budgeting, name the person you interviewed, provide his or her title, and explain why this individual is a credible source for your presentation.
Your slides should contain original summaries and should not contain too many words. Each slide should also contain an image. Use your imagination. Think outside of the box. Your presentation can be humorous but should remain very professional considering the significance of the topic. You must use at least three current credible resources from your textbook, EBSCOHost, or other provided sources.
Include a list of references at the end of the presentation (last slide). The Week 2 PowerPoints are presented beginning in the Week 3 Collaborate Live sessions, so contact your professor to schedule your time. All PowerPoint’s (the actual slides) are due by Sunday midnight, Week 2.
