This weeks reading comes to us from the long tradition of performing arts, theater, and performance studies more generally. For this Discussion Board, you should reflect on what it means to act and to enact emotions.
How I would approach such a conversation is as follows: Address first: Are the two verbs different? If Im acting am I also enacting? How do you know? Then: How do your answers correspond to the action and enacting of emotion? Do I act angry? Or am I enacting a feeling by showing my anger in performative ways? Lastly: Why does it matter? Think of issues like authenticity, identity, truth, and morality.
