1. After reading/watching the information provided on Freud’s Psychoanalytic Theory, you will be choosing a character in Othello to analyze using Freud’s theories.
Each of the characters in the play can easily be analyzed using Freud’s theories. However, I do believe that either Iago, Othello, Roderigo, Emilia, or Desdemona, would be the best choices. You may also choose to discuss three characters and how each character correlates with one aspect of Freud’s understanding of the subconscious mind (Id, Ego, and Superego).

Your analysis will be submitted to Turnitin. It should be roughly 4-6 pages and use 1-2 outside sources on Freud’s theory, as well as the play itself. Before beginning the paper, make sure to feel confident on how to write a paper of this nature. Read the sample essays in the Unit Materials folder and ask questions if you are feeling confused! 🙂

What theory do you think is most correct about personality development. Using your personality as a lens, explain why you believe this particular theory sounds most correct to you.
If you disagree with all of the theories, create a theory and compare and contrast it, with the theories you have learned about in this section.
Your work will be a minimum of 3 full pages long, and should not exceed 4 pages. Work should be double spaced, 12 point font, 1″ margins.
