RPIRG is one of 7 levy funded student centres (besides URSU of course) that offer a range of programs and services to students. The other centres are the Carillon, the Women’s Centre, UR Pride, Engineers Without Borders (EWB), and World University Service of Canada (WUSC – Refugee Student Centre). All of the centres are funded by a small levy, each different and collected on different schedules, paid by students each year. All UofR students are encouraged to learn more about each centre and how they can benefit from their work, as we are all funded by you!

RPIRG is the Regina Public Interest Research Group, one of many PIRGs across North America, and was founded in 2007. PIRGs are usually set up on a campus and all share a similar mandate of encouraging research, education, and action on social or environmental justice, but they are all autonomous and their local priorities all vary depending on the context of their community.
