Europeans Choosing to Live Among Native Tribes, Prohibition, Gambling, Drugs, and Morality

Please answer 1 and 2 below:
Consider the following quotes: The first is from a French explorer while the second is from Benjamin Franklin. “There must be in their social bond something singularly captivating, and far superior to anything to be boasted of among us, for thousands of Europeans are Indians, and we have no examples of even one of those Aborigines having from choice become Europeans”. “No European who has tasted Savage Life can afterwards bear to live in our societies”. Both are commenting on the curious phenomenon of those Europeans who preferred to live among Native tribes. Share your thoughts on these quotes.

Moral Reform Movements: Most Reform movements of the 1800s firmly believed that the state should pass laws to enforce moral behavior. These movements eventually were successful in outlawing alcohol in the 1920s. Also, similar ideas led to the outlawing of prostitution, gambling, drugs, etc. Do you think it is up to the state to regulate individual morality or should everyone be free to do whatever they want with their lives as long as they don’t step on someone else’s freedom? Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each argument, and explain your own position on this topic.
