Directions
Collaborate with the RN preceptor to explore and discuss handoff report in the clinical setting.
Review the facility’s or unit’s policy and procedures and current practice guidelines for handoff report.
Complete 3 handoff report audits while in the clinical setting. Utilize Clarifire software for each audit. Upload proof of completion to the Canvas assignment within the NUR 4948L course site.
Compare the facility/unit’s policies and current evidence (nursing literature) to what was observed during the 3 audits.
Synthesize the evidence and information about handoff report.
Provide a recommendation for your professional nursing practice.
Prepare and write an APA formatted paper emphasizing best practices related to handoff report. The paper should be 2-3 pages, not including the title and reference pages and must include a minimum of 2 empirical (research) nursing articles published within the past 5 years.
