A case study project that requires the application of the statistical tools and methods learned in the course to a real business problem. The goal is to practice effective writing of statistical analysis in a way a layperson could understand. This is an important skill in the business world. Just knowing the technical details is not enough. A dataset will be provided for this purpose. The project will culminate in a final report not exceeding three pages, including all tables and figures (Times New Roman 12-pt font, single-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides).
Your report should have the following sections, arranged sequentially:
1. Introduction and background
2. Business questions to be answered, variable and data description
3. Initial data exploration using descriptive statistics and visualization techniques
4. Main analysis using forecasting methods (including model evaluation, assumptions and other relevant issues)
5. Interpretation of results from the analyses
6. Final conclusions and recommendations for decision-making
Please refer to the grading rubric posted on the course website while preparing your submission.
