Section 1: What accounting topics did you learn in this course that really matters?
Select one accounting topic from each unit. Write one paragraph for each unit. The paragraph should include the following:
Explain and describe IN DETAIL the topic that you select from the unit. You need to demonstrate your understanding of the specific topic.
Explain why that topic is important to you.
Connect the topic to your own life right now. Be specific! Be creative! Do not say, “I will use this concept in business one day.” That statement is true for all topics in the course.
Take your time to think deeply about this connection. It does not have to be work or career-related. Then, describe this connection in at least two to three complete sentences. When we make those connections, we are better able to remember the concepts.
How will this topic help you in your own life either professionally or personally? Be specific!
Describe three sources that helped you learn that topic. The sources should be specific. For example, Ch. 1 Homework, Question 1, Chapter 1 Interactive Tutorial, Chapter 1 Slide #5, Illustration 1.1, etc. A source is anything that was shared with you this semester. (These do not need to be formated in a reference list.) Do not just list “homework.” List which question in the homework, for example.

Paragraph 2 – Unit 2: Chapters 3 (the accoutning inforamtion system) & 4 (accrual accouting concepts)
Paragraph 3 – Unit 2: Chapters 5 (merchandising operations and the mutlistep income statement) &6 (Inventory)
Paragraph 4 – Unit 4: Chapters 7 (Fraud, Internal Control, and cash), 8 (reporting and analyzing receivables), & 9 ( reporting and analyzing long lived assets)
Paragraph 5 – Unit 5: Chapters 10 (reporting and analyzing libilities), 11(reporting and analyzing stockholders equity), 12 (statement of cash flow)

Section 2: What professional topic did you learn in this course that really matters?
Describe a professional topic that you learned in this course. A professional topic is a topic related to your career. For example, resume advice, interview advice, networking advice, etc.
Explain how that topic will help you become a professional.
Describe which sources helped you learn this topic. These should be sources that I shared in class or from an accounting event/webinar you may have attended. For example, I will share events that you may attend to learn about the accounting profession. Describe the event and what you learned.

Section 3: What surprised you about this course?
Think back to what you first thought of accounting before the course started? Did you think accounting was just math? Did you think accountants sat in a cubicle all day? Perhaps, you are now considering a career in accounting because of this course. You may also address your experience in a remote learning course.
