Explain and discuss the following statement: Whistleblowing is almost entirely characterized in practice by the reprisal meted out to the whistleblower. Serious fraud and unethical or irresponsible behaviors do exist, and they must be exposed. We will always need people who speak up when the majority of the population remains silent. The number of people who speak up who go on to become whistleblowers is determined by the organization’s response (Alford, 2016). What protections are in there for whistleblowers? How does jurisdiction play a part in the process?
