1. Explain how Aristotle links happiness with virtue ethics, moral excellence (living a virtuous life, excellently)?
2. Apology (29d-30b) is the heart of Socrates’ wisdom and argument. Why does he say that wealth does not bring moral excellence? Whereas moral excellence brings everything worthwhile in life, individually and collectively. You may want to re-read the selected parts of Apology.
Understanding these questions is at the heart of “Virtue Ethics” a concept we will explore at length during our meeting next week as a part of ethical theories.
