Explain, how can this be viewed through a rhetorical lens?

Read Chapter 2 of our Everyday Talk textbook: You can access chapter 2 in the file I put it in the bottom. Its called
Tracy & Robles – Everyday Talk_ Building and Reflecting Identities-The Guilford Press
If needed, this Prezi (Links to an external site.) offers an overview of the chapter concepts. Even with no audio, it’s a helpful visual representation of how the ideas in the chapter work together
Here is an overview of how the two perspectives compare to one another.
Watch Jamila Lyiscott’s TEDtalk “3 Ways to Speak English”
Watch Celeste Headlee’s TEDtalk “How to Have a Good Conversation”
As you watch the 2 clips, consider how the practices talked about by each speaker could be viewed through a cultural lens. and, alternately, through a rhetorical lens. Remember, as the chapter talks about, situations can be seen through both, we just focus on different aspects of the situation depending what “lens” we’re viewing it through.

Paragraph 1:
After watching both TEDtalk clips listed above, select one of them to discuss. Explain how the practices described in the talk can be viewed through a cultural lens, and then explain how they can be viewed from a rhetorical lens.
Paragraph 2: Think of an example of a communication practice from your own life that you can see both the cultural and rhetorical aspects of it.
Briefly explain the practice
Explain, how can this be viewed through a cultural lens?
Explain, how can this be viewed through a rhetorical lens?
Assess which lens, if either, you feel more appropriate for understanding this practice/dilemma
You should make it clear in your post that you understand the definitions of the concepts. For full credit, be sure to quote the textbook and correctly cite it in APA format. (Reminder: when directly quoting a source, always include page number.)

Objectives:
Analyze everyday communication by labeling discourse practices
Explain how identity is constructed and challenged in communication
