I’m here to introduce the topic of police brutality and how police are assaulting black people because they were fighting for civil rights. Early records suggest that labor strikes were the first large-scale incidents of police brutality in the United States, including events like the Great Railroad Strike of 1877, the Pullman Strike of 1894, the Lawrence textile strike of 1912, the Ludlow massacre of 1914, the Great Steel Strike of 1919, and the Hanapepe …So African American people been fighting for their rights for a long time and people still did not get their full rights. But I feel like it hasn’t gotten any better because the police are still killing African American men for no reason or overcharging them like giving more years for little charges. And it’s never gonna get better because some white people just can’t stand African Americans. My goal is to show that African American people have been harassed their whole life and people have died over it for trying to get equal rights for black people and their community.
How police brutality happened in different states and countries
This article talks about how police brutality started and how it started to grow bigger and start to affect more colored black young men. “INTRODUCTION: AFRICAN AMERICANS, POLICE BRUTALITY, AND THE U.S. CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. This study interests me because I have young friends that are colored too and I wouldn’t. This article was made in 2013 he is the professor and chair of black and Latino studies. This article is a secondary source article because it brings up other dates etc from other sources. This article talks about how the police patrolled the black communities. Spruill, Larry H. “Slave Patrols, ‘Packs of Negro Dogs’ and Policing Black Communities.” This book is in a secondary source because it brings up different dates. This book was published. I chose this topic because I also wanted to learn more about my history and what happened to a lot of African Americans. The author is tryna say the cops have more rights but we marched to try to get the same rights as white people. Also, the book talks about how police treat African Americans as dogs and they didn’t care what happened to them. The date this book was published was in 2016. “Blacks and Law Enforcement: TOWARDS POLICE BRUTALITY REDUCTION.” The article focuses on police brutality and how African Americans got treated. This article was a source in 1986 and this article was a secondary source because it talks about a war etc that happened in 1986. The author concludes that African Americans should not get treated that way. They only get treated like that because of their skin color. But as we got later in the years I don’t think anything has changed because cops are still killing people and still getting arrested for no reason. These articles are the same because they are explaining how young black boys are getting treated badly because young black people didn’t deserve it. Some black men got killed and went to jail for no crime they were just picked on by the police.
The significance of black men and the effects that affect their life
The effects of them being racially accused because if things happen to colored men the police are only gonna blame the colored men if they were white they would get less time and a slap on the wrist. This is showing that young black kids are being stereotyped by the police. This article talks about Tupacś Shakur’s life legacy and how he tried to follow his mom’s footsteps by representing black people. This article was written in 2014 in the spring. This article is in the second person perspective because Tupac didn’t write this article someone wrote the article on him. I chose this article because I wanna see what he did to try to help colored people and how he did it. Also, he was debating the continues of black males for the hip hop generation and to keep everyone motivated. This article focuses on the way black teens were raised like so what in jail or dead didn’t even finish high school. And it talks about how African American teens got it worse than white teens. Black teens got it worse because the police try to slay most of the black kids but kids white kids a slap on the wrist and give them more chances in life. In this article on police brutality by Lee, it talks about different studies and how judges have handled it. And one case study says that 5 officers committed a crime and they didn’t get any consequences for it. And people think that he should have been convicted because of what the police officers did. Also, people did interviews and they felt like people should have gone to jail and they didn’t go to jail. All these texts are similar because they talk about how black would face more consequences than any white kid because of their skin color are how police perceive black people. Throughout these texts, they are similar because the Authors are saying police are wrong for harassing the young black men up. And the police don’t get accused of anything that they do.
The consequences they had to face were being racially profiled and harassed
These articles talk about the consequences young black teens have to go through for being colored and having a hard time growing up because they are racially profiled or assaulted. That racial violence is wrong because some people get seriously hurt from it. Using a secondary source to collect data, the authors provide evidence the study is of interest to me and my research on police brutality because I wanted to see what people went through growing up and how they dealt with it. I can use this study to think about my own research design by Discussing the topic and explaining ideas on how I could get rid of them. The author includes important dates and why they would happen. The article focuses on the riots and police which means they use riot shields for black people. This title is called police and riots by ANTHONY DANIEL PEREZ. Also, this includes the reasons why white didn’t like colored people and why they used to use their riot shields. This is a secondary source because they weren’t there but the person is telling a secondary part in where and what had happened. Also, it talks about the Boston police and how they attacked and harmed people in Boston for protesting. These topics interest me because it shows how they were treating black and how they didn’t care about what they did to colored people. I can use this
