The second module discusses the
thought behind the Constitution. Once the goals of government were agreed to,
there still remained questions about the best government suited to the
protection of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The antifederalists and
Federalists had a monumental debate that shaped the country. The Federalists
were victorious, and their understanding of the Constitution is contained in
the most famous and influential work on American politics —the Federalist
Papers. We will read the Federalist Papers to understand the nature of our
political institutions.

the Constitution?

The essay should be an interpretive essay by which I mean that you should not be researching secondary opinions and giving the opinions of scholars, but should be explaining the primary text with evidence from the primary text. Meaning no external citations are needed

I never tire of saying that you need to have a thesis. You should not just summarize the text but you should be making an argument about what the text is arguing. Your thesis should not be obvious and trivial. It should be of some significance and part of your thesis should be an argument for why it is significant.
