Topic: Your research paper can be a continuation of your documented essay’s topic, but you will need to find a new angle to research. You may also choose from another of the umbrella topics to focus on (technology, fake news, social media, or health). Either way, spend some time brainstorming about possible angles that you can focus on in your essay. Remember, the thesis statement must be narrow and focused.
Format: Use MLA 8th edition style. Go to https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ for up-to-date information on citation, and/or use the green sheet given to you during a library workshop.
Length – 6 to 7 (at least 6 FULL) double spaced pages of text (not including graphics or the Works Cited page). Seven “rambling” pages is not better than 6 clear, fully developed pages.
Margins – 1-inch top, bottom, left, right
