My sources need to come from CBS news, U.S News, The Hill and CNN
The essay is very
research-heavy, meaning the thesis statement and media analysis depends on a
considerable number of examples from the media or sources that you are studying
(this should be obvious). Also, the research here must all be conducted before
the thesis can be articulated and the essay is written. Therefore, the prewrite
will detail the research being conducted
This prewrite is a works cited
page. It will include half of the works cited requirement of the essay. Each
member of the group will include four sources. Therefore, the prewrite will
include 12 sources (or eight for a group of two). Each source will also include
a brief summary of the information used from that source. (Extra credit: if the
prewrite includes all the sources for the essay (eight sources per group
member) then the prewrite will earn an additional 15 points. This is factored
into the grade, which means if the group gets a 90% for example, then the 15
points will be added to that.)
All the sources listed here will
be used for the essay and be listed again on the works cited page included with
the essay. If a source included in the prewrite is not included on the works
cited page, points will be deducted from all of the works cited and this
prewrite. The reasoning behind this is that you are meant to be working on the
essay, not throwing a bunch of sources together to complete the requirements
for just this assignment.
To repeat, this assignment will
include four sources from each group member and a brief summary of each source
included with each source. There is no word count requirement for the summary. Each
group will be turning in the exact same file, so the groups must collaborate
and work together.
