How the Great Depression ended by The United States’ involvement in World War 2.
An analysis of the reasons and consequences of joining the allied nations.
The United States joined WW2 in 1942, after the bombing of pearl harbor, and quickly mobilized a massive army which made the unemployment rate plummet. The shortage of men in mainland USA made it so that women took their jobs, breaking a social stigma that would benefit the culture and lead to the exponential growth of the economy. The shifting of the economy to a war funded economy created jobs and wealth, marking the end of the American Great Depression.
