Now that we have a head start on some research from the annotated bibliography, it is time to start putting together the term paper. You should have at least 5 sources from assignment #2, you need to find at least 5 more to complete your first draft, but this is just a bare minimum for the required research. You should continue to survey relevant literature, looking for conceptual definitions, operational definitions, theoretical or empirical justification for your research questions or hypotheses (i.e., any results that might help you make predictions), data collection methods, statistical analyses, the application to a context you think is interesting, or anything else that you want to use for your paper that you found in previous research.
Remember, you can write a proposed study design using hypothetical data – elaborate on the design that you think would be best to use to answer your research questions or explore your hypotheses in the context that you are interested in, and use your imagine to predict what the results might look like if your logic was correct. However, you should provide a defense for the reliability and validity of these decisions and predictions (cite your sources that gave you the ideas for the proposed design, data collection methods/measures, hypothetical results, etc.).

HERE ARE THE ANNOTATED BIBIKOGRA
1.Ramirez Jr, Artemio & Sunnafrank, Michael & Goei, Ryan. (2010). Predicted Outcome Value Theory in Ongoing Relationships. Communication Monographs, Volume 77 (1). Page 27-50.
https://www-tandfonline-com.cmich.idm.oclc.org/doi/abs/10.1080/03637750903514276
This journal discusses whether the predicted outcome value theory is able to be extended in to studying ongoing relationships. The authors had many different theories regarding the role the predicted outcome value theory plays in the dynamics of ongoing relationships. The journal discusses how they predicted that the more positive outcome value expectations in a relationship had a direct correlation to greater intimacy, better communication, and overall likeness between the two partners. The authors used their research to further advance their understanding of the predicted outcome theory within ongoing relationships.
2.Horan, Sean M. & Houser, Marian L. (2012). Understanding the Communicative Implications of Initial Impressions: A Longitudinal Test of Predicted Outcome Value Theory. Communication Education, Volume 61 (Issue 3). Pages 234-252. https://www-tandfonline-com.cmich.idm.oclc.org/doi/full/10.1080/03634523.2012.671950
This journal discusses the testing and research done related to the predicted outcome theory within the classroom. The authors conducted a two-phase study to assess the communication among students in the classroom and their predicted outcome value judgements. They discuss the relationship between college students and their professors and the importance of professors creating a good relationship with their students. Through the study the authors end up with results explaining the negative implications that lack of communication among instructors and students create, and how that relates to the predicted outcome value theory.
3.Young, S., Kelsey, D., & Lancaster, A. (2011). Predicted Outcome Value of E-mail Communication: Factors that Foster Professional Relational Development between Students and Teachers. Communication Education, 60(4), 371–388. https://doi.org/10.1080/03634523.2011.563388
This journal discusses student-teacher relationships and the role that predicted outcome value theory plays amongst them. The authors develop a study to investigate the important role that email plays as a form of communication from teachers to students. The authors use predicted outcome value theory as a guide to study the frequency of emails from teachers to their students and whether or not it is an indicator of their relationship, and how exactly it determines the relationship. Through these studies, they find that email as a form of communication is a solid indicator of the relational development that students and teachers have.
4.La France, B. (2019). The impact of sexual self-disclosure, sexual compatibility, and sexual conflict on predicted outcome values in sexual relationships. The Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality 28(1), 57-67. https://www.muse.jhu.edu/article/722525.
This journal involved studying the relationship between high predicted outcome value levels among college students and interactions high in sexual self-disclosure, and highlighted areas of sexual compatibility. The authors surveyed 395 female and male students in college at Midwestern University enrolled in communication classes. They found that most all of t6he results lined up with their prior predictions. Through their study, they found that among the students sexual self-disclosure was positively related to sexual predicted outcome values. They found the importance of communication regarding understanding human sexuality.
5.Ramirez, A. (2000). The impact of inter -activity on relationship development: Testing predicted outcome value theory on computer -mediated interactions. ProQuest Dissertations Publishing.
https://www.proquest.com/docview/304579986?pq-origsite=primo&accountid=10181
This journal involves the study of computer-mediated interactions through the guide of predicted outcome value theory. The authors created and tested 9 hypothesis all regarding different aspects of communication and behavior, in relation to predicted outcome values. They found that predicted outcome value theory has the ability to account for communication processes relevant to interactions conducted through computer-mediation. They tested whether or not future interactions occurring can be predicted after the first communication through a mediated environment.
