There are many different situations that may arise in counseling, and these situations may require different responses. Counseling different populations may require special considerations as well. This assignment will help you determine these situations and how to respond ethically.
Select one of the following special populations:

Families
Older adults
Write a 1,100-word paper on your selected population using this template:

Summarize a literature review of at least five journal articles published within the last 10 years related to major ethical and legal issues pertinent to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of your special population.
Describe challenges of web-based counseling relative to your selected population. Describe solutions as well to address those challenges.
Explain how to use multicultural competencies when counseling your selected population. Refer to code of ethics as well.
Identify social barriers that impede access, equity, and success for clients in your selected population.
Describe social justice and advocacy efforts and processes that are being implemented in society to reduce the barriers to counseling that the population you chose experiences. Also describe efforts that should be implemented via social justice or advocacy to reduce barriers specific to this population.
Discuss ethical issues and options for counseling this special population. In other words, what specific ethical codes may pertain to working with this population. Also, what are specific options that should be present for this population if they choose to receive counseling.
Do not use quotes.
Include appropriate ACA and AMHCA ethical codes and standards.
Include a minimum of 5 sources from peer-reviewed journals, along with your text. No websites allowed.
In other words, you will have a total of at least seven sources: code of ethics, five articles, and text.
