Explain how your successful completion of these courses will benefit the HHS System. I work for the State of Texas, Health and Human Services Commission to be specific. I am trying to get educational leave granted to attend a two month information technology program. They want me to write an essay explaining how the program will benefit the agency. I’ve attached an essay I’ve been working on for the past week. After back and forth commentary on it from my supervisors, I will need to restructure it. This is where I need the assistance. They have added
questions/comments to guide my statement of how the program will benefit the
Agency. I’m including the HHS mission and vision so you have it, and other links that will assit in restructuring of the paper. Citation style format is not needed, and there is no length requirement. They only stated the more the better chance of approval of educational leave.

The Office of Chief Counsel (OCC) provides administrative support service in the Health and Human Services system. The OCC consists of three divisions: Appeals, Legal Services, and Privacy. These divisions provide specialized consultative services to the HHS agencies, programs, and the HHS system.

Mission and Vision

As one of the system’s administrative support services, the mission of the Office of
Chief Counsel and its divisions is to support system decision makers. We fulfill this
mission:
Through the Appeals Division, by ensuring that agency actions remain faithful to the policies established by System decision makers, the rules adopted by the Executive Commissioner, and state and federal law.
Through the Legal Services Division, by providing timely and meaningful legal work, legal analysis, risk assessment, and advice, as well as viable options for decision makers;
Through the Privacy Division, by working with staff and decision makers to safeguard the system’s confidential information and to facilitate compliance with system policy, rules, and state and federal laws relating to privacy; and
The Office of Chief Counsel will be a professional and involved organization. This means having thoughtful and intellectually curious staff who are well-grounded and well-versed in legal principles, the laws relating to health and human services, and system programs, policies, and priorities; who are trusted and welcome in interactions with program staff; and who provide a timely, accurate, consistent, and practical work product.
