a) Explain why politics may be an inevitable part of judicial selection. Be explicit and cite at least two examples (of this politization) from readings, videos, the documentary, or current news media. Be thorough, logical, and use critical thinking.
b) Explain one potential conflict of interest that may threaten judicial independence among American judges. Be explicit, provide one concrete and detailed example, and include class material in your response.
c) Based on your informed perspective, briefly explain what kind of judicial selection process (election, appointment, or merit system) do you think would be less political in choosing judges. Be explicit and support your arguments with facts or evidence from class material.
d) I. Based on the documentary ‘Divorce Corp’ explain in detail who are the winners (provide a concrete example) and the losers (provide a concrete example) of divorce litigation according to this film, and II. how this could be fixed to help those who want to get a divorce. There is no right or wrong answer, but provide an educated opinion based on class material.
