Option One: Academic Honesty in Society
Write a research-based paper according to the topics below.
Identify three to five instances in society in which people were accused of academic dishonesty. Do not choose examples of people who engaged in financial, legal or personal relationship dishonesty. Describe the situation, including the nature of the violation, how the situation was discovered and why it was determined to be an act of academic dishonesty.
Discuss the consequences of the persons actions, including the effects (if any) the act had on their status, position or employment. Do you agree or disagree with the outcome? Should the consequences have been more severe? Less severe?
Explain what the person could have done to avoid the dishonest act.
Paper Expectations:
The paper should be comprehensive, thoughtful, and clear.
Six complete pages in length (not including title and Works Cited pages), double-spaced, one-inch margins, 12 point font.
Include at least four sources, all of which must be scholarly in nature. Examples include: articles in scholarly journals, entries from reputable newspapers or magazines or videos produced by reputable news sources. Examples of non-scholarly sources include: listicles on a pop culture web site, videos by an individual on YouTube or blog postings. Use of a dictionary can be used to enhance your work, however it cannot be counted as a source. Wikipedia is NOT acceptable as a source.
In-text citations and Works Cited page must be properly formatted, using the format of your preference.
