Watch the video clip before you begin the AQ and if you want to draft an essay before completing the AQ – this is the direction for the essay (30 points):
Utilize the video clip to write an essay regarding China’s use of facial recognition technology to formulate social credit scores awarded to Chinese citizens.
It is an essay so therefore it must include an introduction, a three-paragraph body (subtopics 1-3), and a conclusion.
Subtopic 1: ranking – breakdown point totals, provide commentary by Chinese citizens, explain why big data is used, and describe the habits of people that increase their score and habits that lower their score.
Subtopic 2: the example provided of a model citizen – describe her family, provide her financial status, and explain the examples pertinent to jaywalking, supermarket shopping, and discounts.
Subtopic 3: the example of a blacklisted citizen – why is he blacklisted? how did he discover the fact that he was blacklisted? describe the penalties of being blacklisted, and describe the circumstances that led to his being removed the blacklist.
