Background: a research paper is a piece of academic writing based on its authors original
research on a particular topic, and the analysis and interpretation of the research findings. This

2. Write unified, well organized, text-based essays of various lengths applying a variety of
rhetorical strategies with arguable thesis and persuasive support, free of disruptive
errors.

annotated bibliography on your chosen topic for the semester.

Requirements:

MLA format throughout the paper: typed printed in black ink, Times new Roman font, 1-inch
margins and each page after the cover page is number but your last name and page number.

Cover page: name, class, original and descriptive title, due date and plagiarism agreement
signed.

Annotated Bibliography: list your 5 to 6 sources in alphabetical order by the authors last name
along with annotations per source.

Introduction: effective hook, informative background with, “They Say I Say” template usage,
clear specific thesis.

Body paragraphs: organized into 3 to 4 appropriate paragraph headers, in-text citation of
sources and transitional phrases.

Conclusion: thesis statement, so what? Discussion with they say I said template usage, effective
reverse hook.
