1. Perform basic INDUSTRY research for the ENTIRE industry
2. Use “Porter’s Five Forces” model and PESTEL model
3. Identify at least two current external circumstances (one favorable and one unfavorable) for EACH of the forces in the models.
4. Make sure you have AT LEAST one favorable and one unfavorable “current external circumstance” listed for each of the 11 model factors (6 each from the PESTEL and 5 from Porter’s), with no duplicates.
3. Using this information, create a “List of Current External Circumstances” that would apply to the majority of the companies in your firm’s industry. LIST THE FAVORABLE ITEMS BEFORE THE UNFAVORABLE ITEMS.
4. 4. Add an index number to the far left of each list item. For the favorable items, list them “F1”, “F2”, etc. and for the unfavorable items, index them as “U1”, “U2”, etc. Again, you should have at least 11 “F” factors and 11 “U” factors (but you can have more if you wish).
5. Make sure there is a citation for each item in list.
