This course aims to sharpen your critical reflection skills, and I encourage these analyses through the Critical Reflection Essay. You are required to write an essay on just ONE lesson over the entire course of the semester in which you formulate a thesis statement, critically reflect on the course readings, and use at least two outside sources to support your case. Your critical reflection essay should clearly demonstrate to me that you fully understand, and can clearly articulate, the lesson content.
These are the instructions given by my professor. Some more context, I have chosen to write about how transphobia has a negative impact on the mental health of those who are transgender. The book that the source and citation should come from is called Small Beauty by Jia Qing Wilson-Yang and I’ve linked it below. In the book, Mei (the main character) is often misgendered and also has different encounters where people are openly transphobic. These are some of the things that ultimately lead to a decline in her mental health. Let me know if you have any questions, sorry that the due date is so soon!
