Assignment Overview:
Write a 1000-WORD essay reflecting on a minimum of 3 topics you enjoyed learning about the most any throughout the semester. You are NOT required to reference scholarly sources but if you do use external sources you must properly cite them.
Think critically and think about how specific aspects/characteristics of Africa’s geography relates to the course topics you have selected to write about, relaying your interpretation and analysis of these topics in proper essay format with well-structured sentences and paragraphs. Your essay should flow, connecting one topic and paragraph to the next. Your essay should relate to module topics covered in the lectures, readings, etc., and you may choose to elaborate on course topics by citing journal articles or other sources, however, this is not required. However, if you do use information from external sources (e.g., journal articles or other publications; media sources or other non-scholarly sources, etc.) you must properly cite your sources to avoid plagiarism.
*You are welcome to use first person to discuss what topics you enjoyed learning about the most during the course. 🙂
Assignment Instructions & Requirements:
1. Write a 1000-WORD essay reflecting on a minimum of 3 topics from the course modules you enjoyed learning about during the semester.
2. Use proper essay format, including indented paragraphs, proper grammar, sentence and paragraph structure (avoid informal language, contractions, etc.; *you may use first person “I”).
3. Document Heading top left of page including:
Your full name
Word Count
Assignment title (centered directly above essay body)
4. Double spacing; New Times Roman, 12 pt. font.
5. Do not plagiarize (this includes your own work & essays submitted during the course! You must rephrase material in your own words. Do not use direct quotes, i.e. whole sentences taken from authors placed in quotation marks- you may include a couple short direct quotes but your essay should be 98% your writing and words, not someone else’s.
6. OPTIONAL: Include Subsection Headings throughout the essay (e.g., Introduction & Conclusion sections, and others based on content- for example- ‘Politics in Africa’ or ‘The Environment and Disease in Africa’ or ‘African Wildlife and Conservation’.
