There are three parts in the supplementary materials.
Part 1: Information extracted from 2020 – use this for Q 1, Q2 and Q3
Part 2: Information used for 2021 financial statement analysis – use this for Q 5, Q6 , Q8 to Q11
Part 3: Other information. use ths for Q7

Question 3: Read the supplementary material from 2020 annual report. In 50 words or less, briefly summarize what impact, if any, the COVID 19 global pandemic had on a) operational costs and b) sales? In words, explain why the c) operating profits and d) operating profit margins increased or decreased due to the global pandemic.
The question is asking students to read the 2020 Annual report material in part 1 (see above) . Based on the information there, summarize in words how COVID19 impacted operational coast and sales. A brief summary in words of how COVID19 impacted the operations and sales (did these go up or down due to covid 19? and why ?) is all that is required . Students do not need cite any numbers or figures from income statement / balance sheet in part 2. it is not required. Again: DO NOT USE CALCULATIONS OR FORMULAS. Some students might argue – is the impact of COVID 19 not reflected in the income statement/ balance sheet in part 2 ? The answer yes, but it is not the only factor reflected in the income statement/ balance sheet. There are many factors impacting these figures, including firm investment decisions. So the impact of covid on the business can not be inferred just from the income statement / balance sheet. You need to read part 1 to understand the precise way the business operations / sales were impacted (if at all).
