Foreign Policy/National Security at the U.S-Mexican Border

You will complete a research paper about an aspect of U.S. foreign policy law you find interesting.

Your papers should consist of about 1,500 to 2,000 words and make use of at least 5 peer-
reviewed articles and one reported case. Your essay should have a cogent thesis (or argument)
woven throughout the paper, make excellent use of paragraph structure, and effectively use the
resources you find both to advance your argument and to shed light on the aspect of U.S. foreign
policy you address.

For the research assignment, The following will be researched: The foreign policy and laws regards to border
security. Look at how different presidents over the years acted on foreign policy and acted on boarder security,
especially the U.S/Mexico border as that has been many debates with current and past presidents. Look at how
congress acted in passing regulations for the president to act on and if they abided by those regulations. Most
importantly, I will look at how President Trump went around boarder security and foreign policy with his promise
to “build the wall” and look if he followed the law and look at the success he had.
