Formative assessments

his week you are creating 6 formative assessments. DO NOT PANIC. This sounds like a lot, but in reality it is not. Formative assessments are the daily things that a teacher has his/her students do to show they are progressing in their mastery of the standard being taught.
If you think about assessments/activities that take place in the classroom on a daily basis, you may think of things like:
bellwork
entrance tickets
quizzes
journals
worksheets (use limited)
review games
partner work
group work
exit tickets
homework
These are just a few things you may think about. Not everything that you ask your students to do in the classroom will be graded. For example, at the end of class, you may ask your students to complete an exit ticket. You may ask them to write on a sheet of paper one thing they learned that day and one thing they have a question about. This would give you feedback on how to start class the next day. However, you would not issue a grade. Some teachers assign homework, but they do not give a grade because they do not know who actually does the homework. Another example maybe prepared questions for students to turn and talk to their classmates. In this case, teachers would have a prepared set of questions based on the standard. They would present the question to the class as a whole; however, in stead of having only one student respond with the answer, the teacher would have students turn and talk to their face partner or shoulder partner. Then, the teacher would call on students to respond aloud. This allows all students to be a part of coming up with an answer, and it builds confidence to share answers with the class.
For this assignment you will create 3 assignments that you WILL grade and 3 assignments you will NOT grade.
All 6 assignments must have a student copy (what you will present to the students with directions, expectations, and grading information) and a teacher copy (exactly like the student copy but also contains the answers/expected answers, grading information, and a plan for the results). All assignments given are given with a plan for the results. What will your plan be for each assignment? What will you do if the students do not meet your expectation? What will you do if they exceed your expectations? Be specific. Tell exactly what you plan to do. The example attached needed more detail.
Since there are so many resources available to teachers, you may use 2 premade assessments. You must still provide a student copy and a teacher copy with all required parts. You must also include a reference page with an APA reference for these assessments.
