Gaps in Service
Review health statistics and demographic data in your geographic area. Determine which vulnerable groups are predominant. References should include a variety of local, state and federal organizations that gather data and provide health-related interventions.
1. Determine the agencies that provide services to these vulnerable groups. Most agencies have a web page where information about the target population is identified, the types of services provided and the reimbursement methods accepted for the service.
2. Identify at least three (3) gaps or overlaps in services provided to these vulnerable groups.
3. Write a 3 – 5 page paper (APA format) not including the title page or reference page responding to the requirements below. You must have at least 2 scholarly references in addition to the textbook and 2 citations:
a. The vulnerable groups that are predominant in the community
b. The agencies that provide the services with the items listed in #2 described.
c. The gaps or overlaps in services
d. What would you do if you had a client who fell into the gap of service?
e. What should be done to improve the system so that gaps and overlaps do not occur?
