Given appropriate readings, class discussions, and prior field experiences, you will select a legal or ethical issue
associated with educational equity. It may be an issue that you observed in the school or one that interests you. You will write a research-based report of about 3 pages discussing the selected topic. You must cite at least 3 scholarly sources. The paper must follow APA format. It should have (1) an introduction which states and defines the problem, and discusses the extent, discusses its historical roots, and explains how it is a good subject for future action research (2) a brief review of the literature, including strategies for addressing the issue (3) a discussion as to why this topic is important for teachers to understand, including how it relates to educational equity and (4) a conclusion about how the selected topic will guide and/or affect the candidate’s future teaching. Please discuss how this research might help you to become a more effective and equitable teacher. Be sure to include a References page with your scholarly sources.
