How did you conduct your investigation?
What did you learn from this process?
How did the readings help you in your investigation?
What would you do differently?

Use your Critical Thinking in Psychology text to read the following:
Chapter 5, “Authority: Appeals to Blind Obedience,” pages 54–66.
In this chapter, you examine what authority to impute to a resource you identify in your research.
Chapter 6, “Experience: The Limitations of Testimonials As Evidence,” pages 67–78.
This chapter helps you apply critical thinking to the statements of others.
Researching Within a Specialization in Psychology
When you investigate a topic as a doctoral researcher, particularly a topic in which a significant amount of research has been done, you will often find it time consuming to carry out a general search of all scholarly resources. Instead, you may save time and effort and find it easier to dig more deeply by focusing your searches within scholarly sources that align closely with the specialization within which your topic fits. This focusing of your research usually enables you to find out more quickly not only what is already known in your topic area, but also what has not yet been thoroughly researched.
