For this assignment, you will use a pre-existing dataset that was obtained as part of a research study on leadership (Best & Shutay, 2018). Participants were recruited via Mechanical Turk and asked to fill out a questionnaire along with some demographic questions. While the data for this study were used to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis to validate a leadership questionnaire, the data provide opportunities to examine leadership-related differences and trends based on demographic segments. The link to the dataset (LeadershipData.csv) and the codebook (DataCodeBook.docx) is available in the Week 2 course resources. Example code focusing on the Values Domain (ValuesDomain) as the dependent variable and duration in seconds (Durationinseconds) as the covariate is available in the Week 2-course resources as well. For this assignment, you will analyze the leadership dataset and address the following assignment components:
Generate one or more hypotheses to be tested. State the null and alternative hypotheses.
Generate and present the appropriate descriptive statistics and visuals, and synthesize the characteristics of the data.
Identify any missing data found and discuss how the missing data were handled
Identify any outliers or anomalies in the data and discuss how those cases were handled
Address all relevant statistical assumptions and provide a written summary of the findings, including methods for resolving any violations.
Run the factorial ANCOVA using your statistical software of choice.
Conduct post-hoc analyses if appropriate (e.g., independent variable with more than two levels).
Provide a summary of the overall findings
Data issues and how they were resolved
Descriptive summary of the data
Results of statistical assumption tests
Factorial ANCOVA results and decided to retain or reject the null hypothesis (address main effects and interaction effects)
