Start with an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement. You may want to include why they came to America in your intro. For each supporting paragraph use block style, which means writing about one ethnic group in a paragraph. So write about the Germans in one paragraph and the Irish in another. These supporting paragraphs will be lengthy. End with a concluding paragraph in which you relate how these immigrants’ situations are similar to immigrants of today.
