Impact of Nurses on Global Health Issues
Descriiption: With a total of approximately 32 million nurses worldwide, these professionals play a prominent role in healthcare delivery throughout the world. With that in mind, it is essential to explore global nursing and how nurses can contribute by addressing various health issues in the United States and across the globe.
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to describe a global health problem that can be explored through research, discuss how this health problem is applicable in both the United States and other countries of the world, and how nurses can impact the issue.
Directions:
1. Select a global healthcare issue (from the CDC or WHO website, or if you have a topic in mind), and discuss with your instructor for approval of the topic.
2. For sources, you must use one (1) nursing textbook, two (2) peer-reviewed, nursing research articles, two (2) reputable websites (WHO, CDC, etc.). You may use additional sources if you wish. It is suggested that you email them to your instructor for approval. Once your articles and outline are approved, follow the guidelines below for your paper.
3. Paper length should be 4-5 pages of content (meaning the Title page and Reference page do not count).
4. Use 7th edition APA guidelines.
5. No more than three (3) quotes may be used.
6. Start your paper with a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) that will serve as an introduction to the paper. The introduction should conclude with your topic sentence (note your topic sentence should read: This paper will discuss topic name, the global impact of the topic name, and how nurses can impact topic name).
7. Students must use the level-one headers shown below.

Discuss how this problem is viewed in the United States and then how it is viewed in at least one other country. For example, if you discuss elevated blood pressure in adults, you may discuss guidelines for defining hypertension in the United States (reference the article where the guidelines came from, using APA format). Then find an article from another country and discuss how hypertension is described in that country (reference the article using APA format).
How Nurses Can Impact Topic name
Discuss how nurses can have an impact on the global topic. Examples include client education, lobbying for legislation, community awareness project, etc.
Conclusion
A clear and concise paragraph including the main points of your paper and two nursing implications nursing practice.
