Grant Proposal Assignment

Grant Proposal Project Description: Serving Hearts Abroad was established in Broward County, Florida, in 2005. In 2005, the 501c3 organization started with back-to-school drives to support an all-girls group home in Leogan, Haiti. It has since expanded and continues to serve those less fortunate through community outreach and rededicating support for their community, and it would like to continue to serve in this capacity. Serving Hearts Abroad is revamping its mission statement and its name to Serving Hearts Everywhere (SHE). Serving Hearts Everywhere continues its mission of developing healthy children and would like to provide temporary, long-term housing and basic needs assistance to young women and children facing homelessness or unplanned pregnancy for a minimum of two years with a maximum of five years. The length of stay will be determined based on each mother and her needs. In addition, SHE would like to prepare this population of young women to become productive individuals in society. They are committed to having a safe facility for these young women and their new and unborn children. SHE will provide a loving atmosphere that assists in both of their well-being.
During their time in this transitional home, SHE will be providing some of the below resources:
– Providing on-site quality licensed childcare service for working and school-aged mothers.
– We are educating each mother in learning nurturing parenting skills.
– Develop career goals and navigate continued education or vocational programs appropriate for each mother.
– We want to teach life skills, including financial literacy, budgeting, home care/maintenance, and other life skill topics.
