COLLAPSE
The data below are taken from a real study about how many points undergraduate students earned on a learning assessment before and after an instructional intervention.
(1) Please copy and paste the data below into Excel. Create a graph or pair of graphs to show how the pretest and posttest data differ. These could be bar, pie, or line graphs. It will be valuable for us to see examples of all three to consider how they send message about the data to the viewer. For reference, there are great examples in Data Visualization of comparative bar charts on p. 47-48, line charts on p. 133-134, and simple pie charts on p. 49.
(2) Please check your chart(s) for these important elements: chart title, x-axis title, y-axis title, and/or data labels if they are needed.
(3) Please reply to this question in the discussion board: What is the main message you think these data are telling us and what design choices could make that message more or less clear?
(4) Please copy and post your graph into this padlet so we can all see them and share our comments: https://padlet.com/acardace/2g482cfhanvzhzpu
