Remember that your paper must be an analysis. Format it according to MLA style. Avoid re-telling or summarizing the works you are examining.
2.) Develop the paragraphs of your essay by beginning each one with a clear, assertive, topic sentence that organizes the idea you will prove in that paragraph.
3.) Evidence to support your points must be drawn directly from the work in which each character appears, primarily in the form of direct quotations. No long quotations are allowed. You must have at least four in-text citations (in the form of quotations) for each character being examined. To omit substantial use of quotations from the stories, or to include long quotations, will result in a failing grade.
4.) Your finished paper must be at least 1,200 words in length, and no longer than 1,900 words. Any paper less than the required length will receive a failing grade.
