The purpose of this assignment is to gain a greater understanding of higher education leadership through a first-hand interview with a higher education administrator.
Interview a higher education leader of your choice and complete a 1,500 word reflection on the interview.
These five prompts should be used for the interview and addressed within your written reflection:
1.What are a couple of the biggest challenges facing higher education leaders today?
2.What are a couple of challenges within your particular area?
3.What role, if any, does your faith, morals, and ethics play in your everyday administrative role?
4.Could you provide your perspective on a couple of current trends in higher education? And, how should higher education leaders respond?
5. What advice would you share for emerging leaders in higher education?
Your reflection should be written in formal language and APA format style, and reference your interview notes, textbook, and relevant articles. Be sure the interview questions are included and responses are directly quoted. You will also want to make sure you discuss how the interview responses are connected to different leadership theories. Finally, you should demonstrate a sophisticated understanding and careful analysis of the responses, comparing and contrasting perspectives, considering opposing positions, and drawing thoughtful conclusions.
