Choose four different examples you have seen of hip-hop culture being sold in mainstream commercial culture (i.e., not items used to sell hip-hop artists, music, or products directly related to hip-hop like films or sneakers, but to sell other, more mainstream or commercial items; how is hip hop and hip hop culture used to sell everyday items?). After having chosen four examples, do the following:
o Summarize the specifics included in the example, including what product is being sold.
o Describe who the intended audience is for the example, including what signs are given in the example to make it clear who the intended audience is.
o Explain how the depictions of “hip-hop” were different in each of these examples
