For this assignment I want you to analyze the era that your event (boston marathon bombing) occurred in. It is important to note where the field of emergency management was at the time, where policy was at, what events had preceded it, etc. For example, if we were studying Hurricane Katrina, we would spend quite a bit of time talking about how things had changed after the 9/11 Attacks, the movement of resources from what is “probable” (flooding, hurricanes) to what is “possible” (terrorist events).
