Homegrown Hate Response Paper

Please write a response paper after watching the following film:

Remember, you are responding as a sociologist, and sociologists always check their personal values and question their “taken-for-granted” worldview. This is a formal paper, so please take your time and write at your best ability. As college graduates you will be judged, sometimes harshly, upon your ability to write and speak at the standards of your given profession. Make sure to check MS Word for grammatical errors (underlined in green) and misspellings (underlined in red). This assignment requires a significant amount of reflection and using your “Sociological Imagination” to analyze the events presented, so please take your time.

Your paper will be analyzed for signs of plagiarism, so please answer these questions in your own words!

Your paper should be in 12pt. Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and with standard 1″ margins throughout. Please include a cover sheet with your name, course information, the semester, my name and title, and the semester and year of the assignment

Please address the following questions / matters / topics with well-developed paragraphs:

-Which American institutions could be playing a role in the escalation of the so-called Culture Wars?
-How are they contributing?
– Why have they been so effective?
– How have these large institutions influenced the attitude and behaviors of individual Americans?
– What is the motivation of the leaders and members of both sides of the culture wars (be objective)?
– From a sociological perspective, how can the culture wars be resolved while respecting the First Amendment of the Constitution
-Did the election of a Black man to the office of the presidency play any role in the deepening of the culture wars? Why or why not?
– Are the culture wars getting better or worse? Explain your answer.

If you reference any resources other than the film, you must complete a References page and include in-text citations. You can receive assistance with this at the library.
